Shortly after I began working with Albert... Not only did my breast milk supply rebound, I also noticed my milk had a higher fat content. |

Guest Blogger: Sef Garcia on Natural Carpet Cleaners
Sef Garcia is the owner of Denver based, Sef's Carpet Cleaning. When it comes to carpets Sef has seen it all. I recently asked Sef for some tips on cleaning a carpet with non-toxic, natural products. He had some great advice for pet owners...
How to remove pet odors with natural products.
- Vinegar
Clean up an accident on your carpet by blotting up as much of the liquid as possible. Dab the spot with equal parts vinegar and warm, soapy water. Blot again with a clean, white cloth until no more liquid is absorbed. - Baking Soda
To remove scents from a carpet, sprinkle with baking soda. Let stand for at least fifteen minutes, then vacuum. Repeat as needed. - Prevention
If your animal continues to stain the place, try spraying vinegar on the spot. The smell should turn him off.
Thanks Sef!

Guest Blogger: Healing Power of Nature
Guest Blogger: Dorothy Trottier of Medical Specialty Billing on the relationship of nature and healing. Dorothy is a remarkable woman who has worked in the medical industry for years. She offers a service reviewing a patient's medical bills to check for errors. (It is a pretty invaluable service!) We truly touched and honored to have her as our first guest blogger!
This morning I read an article in the paper.
Yes, I still read the paper. I find so much more information there. The article was on the power of nature and healing. I thought it was extremely interesting that we only recently realized such a necessity for the well-being of patients. Mostly we treated the disease and not the patient as a whole.
I remember that when my dad was in a nursing home he was very lucky to have a window. The staff had placed bird feeders close by each window so the patients could enjoy the birds and the goings on outside the rooms and hospital. We would take him to sit on his little patio and he really enjoyed it so much.
My dad was an enigma wrapped in a conundrum. He was an engineer who worked in the space race, flew 51 missions in a cramped B24 liberator in WWII and was an Episcopal Priest later in life. But, also important to him was nature. He loved to hike, take pictures of flowers, fish and learned to ski downhill and cross country at age 55 when most people back then were sitting on their duffs. He was a nature guy. He liked to be outdoors.
So, why is this important to my post here? I believe whoever designed the patio and sitting area outside his new “home” really put thought into the healing power of being outside and one with the birds and the trees and the flowers. It made my Dad so happy and helped him to not feel so trapped.
I applaud these places that understand this need and thus I am going to link you to the article I read today: Denver Post, "Where Nature Nurtures".
So, get outside and enjoy the healing power of nature!
